About Duration Brewery

Duration is a modern farmhouse brewery in West Acre (West Norfolk) making beers that belong. The brewery
produces fresh beers and wild and blended farm-style ales brewed from nature with purpose.
The brewery was founded by Miranda Hudson and Derek Bates in Summer 2017. After brewing its first batches
nomadically and in collaboration with friends in the industry, the brewery moved into its permanent Norfolk home
in October 2019.
Nestled in ancient woodlands midway along the Nar Valley Pilgrim Trail, the brewery sits in the ruins of an old
priory and by the banks of a chalk river. Duration brews beers that take inspiration from and pay homage to the
area’s unique terroir and produce. Made with a sense of time and place under the stewardship of head brewer Derek
Bates (former Brew By Numbers) Duration pour the regions rich bounty into every glass.
Following a complex renovation process, Duration’s sustainable brewery is both a nod to the past and look to the
future. A modern, efficient brewhouse was designed with sustainability in mind, while special care has also been taken to ensure the brewery’s construction and output does not disturb the local ecosystem.
In February 2020, the brewery was named in the top ten list of best new breweries in the world according to
RateBeer.com and in March 2020 the breweries first Wild Beer brewed collaboratively at Fyne Ales, Scotland won
gold for best Spontaneous Ale at the SIBA National Independent Beer Awards.
